SKETCH BOOK N° 7 ![]()

Very first idea for the making of the book of Tetsuo HARADA : i wanted to design a book like a tree : show his roots, his branches, living organism.

I was thinking the book should be an art piece in itself, totally abstract, purely poetic.

But very soon I had to admit, as a first book, my father needed a "real
overview" of his work, not an other art piece.
He needed something classical enough to be accepted commercialy, ideas had to
be hidden, functionnal. Less art in the making of the book, more design.

This is the draft for the making of the website of http://www.ghulamsakina.com
(by Liaqat Ali Rasul).
His diifuclty was that his fashion work is amazingly joyfull and so hard to
sell for people living in occidental cities.
I had to show his clothes in context, in the city, show how to use them with
a maximum of fun, naturally.

The chaos magazine project was
develloped with Yosuke Nagafuchi and Habib Hanif. I found this logo : a disc
of noise : an image a crazy world i love too much.
We wanted to put our noise pattern everywhere, contamine the world, spread,
graphic terrorism.

When i started to work on the exhbition "human
experience" i interviwed many people form different origins, ages,
social scales, attitudes.
I was asking them to tell me about physical experience they had : speaking too
quickly i had no choice but to draw and do schemes of what they were telling
me.
Finally the drawings are much better, and i followed this path.

That's the wooden structure of "human experience" in Central Saint
Martins. I was spending my nights collecting wood in the street of north east
London.
I collected just enough wood to build this structure 5 meters high and about
15 meters long.

These are ideas of exercices i would make the people once they have entered
the installation :
- standing on one leg eyes closed
- stop breathing as long as you can
- shut your ears and shout as loud as you can
- and so on ....
On the opposite page was the selection of the hyptonic music that i remixed and palyed in the installation.

I want to be mobile. I need to have my life on myself, as a garment. I need my computer most of the time to work, archive and communicate. This will happen.

One of my main objective coming to London failed : I wanted to select special
spaces and create related choreographies for a group of dancers.
They never came, but i spent many nights just ridding my bike aroud London,
until i get high of cycling.
